Every Fall, first-year students at Emory University spend parts of their first month in Orientation. Several hours are devoted to “Creating Emory”, a performance and discussion event that illustrates Emory’s “expectations of tolerance and responsibility.” In both 2014 and 2015, I produced a short video that played after a theatrical performance. The first video was a series of five interviews where current students spoke about the program and their own experiences with inclusion on campus. The next year, we went with an animated infographic, where statistics about the incoming class were used to highlight their rich diversity. I co-wrote the script, and recorded and mastered the VO in-house. The infographic was animated in After Effects, using assets from Illustrator.
